My cat has pancreatitis? - pancreatitis in cats
I took him to the vet, which for weight loss and lethargy. He is very ill and be hospitalized. The vet is not very optimistic about it. Smokey is 4 years. I have always had regular veterinary checks. Has anyone a cat who survived an acute pancreatitis? I really need a little optimism here.

ReplyDeletePancreas former by a so-called proof of PLI can be diagnosed. I doubt that your veterinarian, because the results must be sent to Texas and needed rest for a few days. Ask your veterinarian if it has been tested, and if not, get done book.
If your cat is the main thing is the food. I know that the vet that prednisone can cause other problems to have, but if you work and get the proper nutrition, you may not be required. Dry foods are not good for cats and especially for this disease and do not want to eat crap sold by the veterinarian.
Many cats do well on a diet low in fat. You want to know, fat below 35% to 40% of calories, or 4% fat, if you use labels, instead of on the link to view an array of foods to give you. The problem with the reduction of body fat is generally the level of carbohydrates in foods is increasing. To combat this you can raise some chicken at the food in order to reduce the fat content. You want high quality food like Merrick, if possible, sprinkle some acidoupholous one health food store and a little more food. If you really want what's better than a raw food that is best for a cat's pancreas. I do not do that, but many people I know who have cats who have been with pancreatic and very successful.
